The San Diego Chapter of CAP Alliance is committed to supporting formerly incarcerated individuals as they transition back into the community. Our chapter offers a wide range of reentry services, including job training, housing assistance, legal aid, and mental health resources, all designed to empower individuals on their path to stability and success.
By collaborating with local employers, nonprofits, and community partners, we help create opportunities for personal and professional growth. With a strong focus on reducing recidivism and fostering independence, the San Diego Chapter is dedicated to bridging the gap between past struggles and a brighter future. Our mission is to help individuals regain control of their lives and become positive contributors to society.

Second Chance San Diego
Second Chance offers comprehensive reentry services, including job readiness training, transitional housing, and life skills coaching for formerly incarcerated individuals. Downtown Partnership San Diego
The Downtown San Diego Partnership is a nonprofit organization that serves as the principal voice and driving force behind the economic prosperity and cultural vitality of Downtown San Diego. It also serves as the managing organization for several special districts including the Property and Business Improvement District, otherwise known as the Clean & Safe program, that provides essential public services in the 275 blocks of Downtown. The organization’s nearly 300 members, representing a variety of business sectors including real estate, technology, banking, law, defense, insurance, communications, energy, and tourism are committed to nurturing a Downtown that benefits the entire San Diego region.

Dreams For Change
Dreams for Change was founded in May 2009 by Teresa Smith, Ph.D., to serve the needs of families and individuals struggling due to the recession’s economic downturn by starting the first congregantSafe Parking Program. Since then, Dreams for Change has pioneered other cost-effective programs that stabilize the lives of thousands of individuals experiencing homelessness and diverting people from becoming homeless.

La Maestra Community Health Centers
La Maestra Community Health Centers, we are proud to be an agent of change in our community and a medical home to more than 45,000 patients in east, central, and south San Diego County. Since opening in 1990 with one volunteer physician, the organization has grown into a PCMH level III accredited Federally Qualified Health Center with ten locations in underserved communities throughout San Diego County, including school-based clinics and a mobile clinic.

Peer Professionals of California
At Peer Professionals, we are dedicated to pioneering a groundbreaking
approach (Lived Experience) to navigating Reentry, Rehabilitation and
Cal AIMS/Medi-Cal benefits (ECM) Enhanced Care Management & Community Supports for populations within the correctional system. Our mission is to establish a Peer-led, Peer designed 501©(3) organization focusing on the unique needs of the aging and physically, mentally, emotionally disabled justice involved, as well as our local marginalized, underrepresented, and underserved communities. Our Lived Experience and Peer Support approaches will promote fostering an environment of compassion, growth, and reintegration.

Rise Up launched their Reentry Program in March 2016. Their 18-month Reentry Program now provides a comprehensive set of services including employment, job-training, case management, tattoo removal, counseling, mentoring, education assistance, financial literacy, life skills, and work ethic development.

Kitchens For Good
Kitchens for Good is a San Diego-based organization founded in 2014 with a simple yet powerful idea: food has the power to change lives.
In 2016, Kitchens for Good launched our Culinary Apprenticeship program, the first of its kind certified by the State of California to serve individuals with barriers to employment.
Since then, we have expanded our programs to include other State-Certified apprenticeships and a group of social enterprises supporting sustainable employment.
